Flavours of North Africa 12 noon
Delighted and proud to be involved again with Ludlow Food Festival – this year I will be taking part at the Slow Food ® Ludlow Marches events, presenting a collection of tasty Egyptian mezze as part of the Flavours of North Africa event on Friday 9th September at 12noon.
The exciting programme of workshops Slow Food ® have an exploration of North African food in the capable hands of Marina Ibrahim and Sophie Browne.
Marina from Cooking Like Cleopatra shares dishes from her family and popular street food to include Egypt’s national dish of Ful Medames, a dish which goes back to the pharaohs, and Ful Ta’amya, Egyptian falafel with flatbreads.
Sophie Browne specialises in Moroccan M’hencha, also known as ‘snake cake’. There’s no snake in it! The name refers to the attractively coiled shape of this pastry cake which is traditionally served at weddings and other celebrations. Sophie will present the traditional rose water and pistachio version and also one filled with dates and orange.
This workshop is suitable for vegetarians and can be booked here
